Room Controller intern

As Room Controller intern, you play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the hotel’s room revenue, from the creation of a reservation through to the guest’s departure and final account settlement. You will oversee room inventory, rates, deposits, guarantees, billing instructions, commissions and revenue recognition across our reservation and property management systems. Working closely with Reservations, Front Office, Revenue and Finance, you will help identify and prevent revenue leakage, rate discrepancies, unauthorized discounts, overbooking losses and accounting mismatches. Your Key Responsibilities Ensure reservations are correctly booked, priced and reflected in the PMS. Monitor rates, discounts, rebates, cancellations and no-shows to protect room revenue. Maintain accurate room inventory and availability and monitor potential overbooking situations. Reconcile reservations and verify deposits, guarantees, guest folios and revenue postings. Control advance payments and validate credit card guarantees. Identify discrepancies between reservation systems, channels and the PMS, and coordinate corrective actions. Monitor potentially fraudulent reservations and support the prevention of chargebacks. Work closely with operational and financial teams to ensure accurate and secure room revenue throughout the guest journey. This internship is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable working across different systems, with a strong sense of accuracy and ownership.
